About Us

A More Sensible Approach To Estate Planning

We at LifePath Law, APC, believe in providing services in a way that clients can easily understand and meaningfully participate in designing and maintaining their estate plan for their loved ones, as well as be assured that their plan will be administered according to their wishes.

Located in Sacramento, our practice was established in 2006 by attorney Donna Shioya. At that time, Donna’s background was in general civil litigation, focusing on real estate, business and employment law. Passionate about helping people in a much more constructive manner, she shifted her focus to estate planning and probate, and has since evolved her practice to include trust and estate litigation involving will contests, financial elder abuse, and exploitation and trustee fiduciary duties.

A Counseling-Based Approach To Estate Law

While most California firms offer estate planning and probate services on a transaction-based model, charging for every page or service they provide, our approach is much more comprehensive. Rather than simply set up your estate plan and walk you out the door, we offer cutting-edge estate counseling so you can have a sense of comfort that your estate plan will best meet your needs and the needs of your family.

Our formal funding, and maintenance and update programs are an extension of this approach. An experienced estate planning lawyer updates you annually as to the changes in the law which affect your estate plan and incorporates those changes into your estate plan once every four years, while incorporating changes relevant to your life and finances on an annual basis. Rather than offer you one-off services, we offer you continued peace of mind knowing you and your family will be secure when crisis strikes.
